
Matt Wright was originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 21st round (640th overall) of the 2000 MLB Amateur Draft out of Robinson High School in Robinson, Texas. He played seven seasons in the Braves organization from 2000 to 2006. In 2003, he was a 10-3 with 1.65 ERA in 82 innings pitched for Rome (A) before being promoted to Myrtle Beach(A+). In 2007, he signed with the Kansas City Royals and pitched for their Triple-A affiliate Omaha from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, he played for the Oakland A's Double-A affiliate Midland where he posted a 7-3 record with a 3.20 ERA in 78.2 innings pitched. Last season, he was 7-10 with a 3.98 for the Barnstormers.
Derrick Gordon, a native of Beaumont, Texas was originally drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 26th round (788th overall) of the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft out of Lamar University. He pitched five seasons in the A's organization, posting a 16-18 record with an 4.27 ERA. He started last season with Gary SouthShore of the American Association but was traded to the Somerset Patriots on June 7, 2012. He was 7-4 with a 2.63 ERA in 68.1 innings pitched for the Patriots.
