Les Walrond was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 13th round (378th overall) of the 1998 MLB Amateur Draft out Kansas University. In 2000, he had a 10-5 record with 3.34 for the Potomac Cannons in the Carolina League (A+). In 2003, he pitched in 7 games in the major leagues for the Kansas City Royals. Walrond also pitched 10 games for the Chicago Cubs in 2006, and 6 games for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008. The Barnstormers added some more help to their bullpen today with the signing of Walrond, Doolittle and Vaughan. Walrond is a veteran who started off last extremely well for the Barnstomers and finished strong with the Phillies organization. His success should continue in 2012. Doolittle and Vaughn do a little of everything, they can't start games come in relief and close games.
