Here's what Southern Maryland manager Patrick Osborn told ATL Baseball Blog about the signings of infielders Matt Padgett and Chin-Lung Hu.

Matt Padgett- "I have always really liked Matt as a person and as a player. He adds a left handed bat to the middle of our lineup and can play multiple positions."

Chin-Lung Hu- "I'm really excited to have Hu! He was a highly thought of prospect and has experience at the highest level. I feel fortunate to have him and hopefully we can help get him back to the big leagues."

Patrick Osborn on Mercado And Figueroa Signings

Here's what Southern Maryland manager Patrick Osborn told ATL Baseball Blog about the signings of catcher Richard Mercado and infielder Paco Figueroa.

Richard Mercado - "We are very lucky to have Richard. If you look at his numbers, he doesn't profile as a number two catcher. He and Lopez will provide a great one, two punch!"

Paco Figueroa - "Paco and I go back to college. He played at Miami along with Richard Giannotti. Paco has played at a very high level his whole career. He will hit at the top of our lineup, he's always been a guy who consistently puts good at-bats together. He will provide some speed to our lineup and character in our clubhouse."
