My Ballot For Bridgeport Bluefish 15th Anniversary Team

Here are my choices for the Bridgeport Bluefish 15th Anniversary team. While all players are deserving of being selected to this team, in my opinion these are the 15 best players in Bluefish history.

You can vote for your choices up until Monday, April 16, 2012!

Mike Guilfoyle - Guilfoyle was on obvious choice. He's the Atlantic League's all-time saves leader with 122. He pitched 325 innings, most of which were in relief and averaged almost one strikeout per inning.

Al Sontag - Sontag is the Bluefish's all-time leader in wins (45), innings pitcher (677), strikeouts (460) and complete games (15)...enough said.

Angel Espada - Arguably the greatest player in Bluefish histroy. He played for the Bluefish for nearly a decade and holds team records in games played (734), hits  (817), runs (444), and stolen bases (173)

Jesse Hoorelbeke - Horrelbeke had an amazing three year run between 2007 and 2009, hitting .293 with a club record 84 home runs. His power is still unmatched in Bluefish history.

Oreste Marrero - Marrero set a team record with 333 RBI over five seasons. He's second on their all-time home run list with 81.

Kevin Henthorne - Henthorne had one of the greatest single seasons in Bluefish history in 2004. That season he had a 12-3 record with a 2.69 ERA in 150.1 innings pitched. He also had 3 complete games that season. I thought that was pretty amazing, considering the amount of offensive talent in the Atlantic League that season. Henthorne finished his Bluefish career with a 2.54 ERA.

Willis Otanez - Otanez had many different stints with the Bluefish but always remained consistent. He had 341 hits in only 286 career games for the Bluefish, with a .310 batting average.

Adam Greenberg - Greenberg is one of the fastest, and most exciting players in Bluefish history. He's the teams all-time leader in triples with 28. He also has a 126 stolen bases in his career.

Luis Lopez - Lopez has been an ambassador for the Bluefish over the last four seasons. He has 543 hits in 507 games for Bridgeport.

Eddy Ramos - Pitched five seasons for the Bluefish, posting a 2.44 ERA with 64 saves in 193 innings.  He was lights out in 2004, when he had a 1.56 ERA.

Jose Amado - Played for the Bluefish from 2002 to 2004, and had 363 hits in only 312 games. Also, had a career .312 batting average with the Bluefish.

Brad Cornett - Pitched over 537 innings for the Bluefish over four seasons, and only had a 3.42 ERA.

Pat Ahearne - Played parts of five seasons with the Bluefish. In 1999, he was 6-0 with a 2.56 ERA in 7 starts before he was signed by the Seattle Mariners. Had a 3.52 ERA in 340 innings, not to mention 6 complete games in his Bridgeport career.

Steve Moss - While he only played two seasons for the Bluefish, he put up great stats, including a .308 batting average with 41 home runs, 153 RBI, and 25 stolen bases. He also had 12 triples and 51 doubles.

Rolo Avila - Had 599 hits in only 524 games for the Bluefish in parts of five seasons. He also had back to back seasons of 40 stolen bases in 2001(41) and 2002 (42). He had 129 stolen bases in his Bluefish career.
