The Somerset Patriots will be honoring New York Yankees great and former New York Mets manager Willie Randolph with the Somerset Patriots Outstanding Community Service Award this Saturday night.
Here's an excerpt from the Patriots press release:
"Randolph will receive the Somerset Patriots Outstanding Community Service Award for his work through the Willie Randolph Foundation, which supports programs and initiatives for improving athletic opportunities for boys and girls in the New York and New Jersey area. With the objective of inspiring and providing positive leadership to inner-city children and young adults, the Foundation places special emphasis on supporting youth baseball programs and improving playing facilities."
