The Long Island Ducks announced that they have signed outfielder James McOwen for the 2012 season.McOwen was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 6th round (195th overall) of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft our of Florida International University. He played four seasons in the Mariners organization, advancing as high as Double-A in 2011 with the Jackson Generals. He had his best seasons in 2009, with High Desert, when he .340 with 10 home runs and 82 RBI. McOwen has a career .289 batting average with 27 home runs, 220 RBI and 59 stolen bases in 403 games.
